Greetings - I write on behalf of the Guild of St Raphael Prayer Group, which has been in existence for almost thirty years. We meet regularly every Monday at 5.00pm at our Parish Church for the Office of the Guild, Prayer, Meditation and discussion. The Group members pray for the sick and the shut-ins of the parish and assist in and around the country; also for others who request their prayers. I, (as well as another Lay Minister) lead a team of women who visit the Sick and take the blessed sacrament to them on a weekly basis. We have experienced healing among members with the help of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the guidance of our Parish Priest.

One of our foundation members, Milcinette Bartholomew, celebrated her one hundred and second birthday in January at the Holy Eucharist at the Sunday Mass. It is a milestone in her life and that of the parish. There was another foundation member one (101years) who passed away last year aged 101, and there are a few more around still. Our sister Milcinette still attends church services occasionally on Sundays.

The Group is in touch with two other Branches in the Diocese, (Santa Flora and Tunapuna branches); sometimes we exchange visits. Our past Rector, Canon Fr. Matthew Gray, who started the Branch, retired two years ago. Canon Fr. John Rohim has replaced him. He fully supports the group in its work. At the moment the group comprises of about twelve members, and about thirty sick communicants. We are still trying to attract new members to join the group.
